Work Based Learning/Vocational Instruction (Period 4)

During these periods, the class participates in Work Based Learning Instruction as the students are working towards their Occupational Diploma. Juniors and Seniors work at an Internship that is appropriate for skills sets and career interests two times a week for two hours a session out in the community of Collierville. Students practice job site skills, communication skills, and daily living skills with the assistance of a job coach in order to gain independence and better prepare themselves for post-secondary life. Three days per week students work on vocational skill building activities in the classroom as well as in school-based jobs.
