FAFSA Deadline Extended

Students enrolling in the Tennessee Promise for next academic year have an extra week to file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

The state pushed back the deadline to fill out the FAFSA until Feb. 22. Monday was the original deadline, but TNPromise executive director Mike Krause said the President's Day holiday, a teacher in-service day in Shelby County on Friday and a large number of snow days in Nashville prompted the deadline being pushed back a day.

Filling out the form is a requirement for the TNPromise, which offers graduating high school students two years of free community or technical college through a last-dollar scholarship program in exchange for community service.
