Investment Committee Member
Artie Byrd has been serving as the President of our Board since 2008, and also serves on the Board's Investment committee. He attended Memphis State University and is a retired Executive of the Kellogg Company. He also serves on the St. Francis Hospital Board as well as the Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center Board.
Artie is married to his wife, Janet, and they have four children and nine grandchildren. They are very active in the Church of the Incarnation where he serves many ministries and is the Chairman of the Church and Schools Finance Council. When he can find free time, he enjoys playing golf and working around the house. Artie truly loves CHS and credits this great school with much of his success in business and life. Go Dragons!

Kathy graduated from Collierville High School in 1970 and went on to study at the University of Tennessee at Martin. She is retired from FedEx and currently owns the Somerville Meat Market. During her career she consulted with companies throughout the United States working with them to restructure their Customer Service operations. She was also contracted by Fayette Academy to create their Capital Development Program.
Kathy currently lives in Oakland and is very involved with the local community. She attends Hickory Withe Baptist Church and gives her time to volunteer for many local charities. She is also a member of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. Her hobbies include showing Arabian horses, scuba diving and playing golf. In addition to all of this she is a devoted Memphis Grizzlies fan.
Kathy joined the Alumni Association as a way to give back to the school that offered her so many opportunities. Everyone who went to this great school should do the same!

A life-long resident of the Collierville area, Dee graduated from Collierville High School in 1989 and attended Union University in Jackson, TN. After graduating from Union University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree, Dee began his career in the banking industry. He is currently the Chief Credit officer at BankTennessee in Collierville. Dee has two sons that are both attending CHS. Dee is also a Football Official with the Mid-South Football Officials Association and a Basketball Official with Memphis.
Former President / Class of 1959
Tommy is a lifelong resident of Shelby County where he graduated from CHS in 1959. He attended Lambuth University where he has served on the Board of Trustees. He also received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Memphis.
Tommy was elected to two terms as Shelby County Board of Commissioners, District 4, Position 3. During this time he served as Chairman of Law Enforcement, Vice Chair of Budget, and Chairman of the Commission.
Tommy has also been actively involved in the Collierville community his whole life. He is a member of Collierville United Methodist Church where he has volunteered his time on many boards and committees. He has also served on the Collierville Rotary Club and the Collierville Chamber of Commerce. In 2004 he was named the “Collierville Chamber Person of the Year”.
Fundraising Chair / Class of 1970
Hunter graduated from Collierville High School in 1970 and earned his Bachelors of Science in Education from Memphis State University. He was a co-owner and President of All Star Waste Systems before retiring. He was involved with the National Solid Waste Association where he received the Governor’s Award.
Hunter is actively involved with many other organizations. He is the President of the Harbor Village at Manistee Beach Association, Secretary-Treasurer of the Harbor Village Marina Association, and President of the Lakeshore II Condominium Association. When he can find free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and cheering on the Memphis Tigers.

Mrs. Maryilyn Walker Burchett considers herself fortunate to have grown up in Collierville and to have attended Collierville schools. She and her husband Leon (Class of 65) have two sons, Eric (Class of 95) and Clay (Class of 99), a daughter in law Melody (Class of 2000), and most importantly her grandchildren Lilliana, Hamilton and Benjamin.
Working in the main office at Collierville High School has kept Marilyn connected and current on the issues facing our schools and students today. She shares that we have many bright and talent students at CHS who are having difficulty finding funds to continue their education. With the support of our alumni, the Collierville High School Alumni Association awards several scholarships to deserving students each year. Marilyn has seen firsthand that your contributions do make a difference and are very much appreciated by our college bound students.
Marilyn looks forward to being involved in the Collierville High School Alumni Association for many more years and hopes that you will find time to be a part of CHSAA.
Board Member/Class of 2004
Brian grew up in Collierville and graduated from CHS as a part of the 13 Year Club. He was active in the scouts and achieved the Eagle Scout rank. After high school he attended The University of Tennessee in Knoxville obtaining his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. He currently works as a Sales Representative for COROB, supplying tinting equipment for the paint and coatings industry.
He and his wife, Victoria (Class of ’05), are excited to have purchased their first home here in Collierville. Brian looks forward to starting a family in this great community and the opportunity to support our new school system.
Class of 1977
Buddy has spent the majority of his life in Collierville. After graduating from Collierville High School in 1977, he pursued a career in the fire service by attending classes from the Tennessee Fire Service Academy. Buddy was hired by the Town of Collierville in July 1978, and moving through the ranks over the next 38 years, he was elevated to the highest level within the Fire Department where he was Appointed by the Mayor and Board of Alderman to the Chief of the Department on May 9, 2016.
Buddy and his wife Dr. Linda Billings have been married for thirty-eight years and have two adult children; Robert Billings (Class of 99) (Chrissy), Brandy Billings (Class of 01) and one grandson Bo Billings (5.5), named after his great grandfather Robert â€œBoâ€ Reid class of (49). They are active members of Bethany Christian Church where he serves as a Deacon and Secretary to the Board. They Currently reside in Williston, Tennessee.
