Course Description  The content of the course includes six standards: 
1. Disease Prevention & Control. Chapters 23 & 25 
2. Mental,Emotional, and Social health. Chapter 5 
3. Nutrition. Chapters 10 & 11 
4. Personal Fitness. Chapter 12 
5. Safety and First Aid. Chapters 26 & 27 
6. Substance Use and Abuse. Chapters 19,20,21,22 

Each content area is addressed in a classroom and / or physical setting. Personal fitness is emphasized and integrated throughout the course. Students are provided opportunities to explore how content areas are interrelated. Students acquire knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions regarding their health and well being throughout their lifetime. 

1st Quarter- Ch-12 / Ch-26 / Ch 27 
2nd Quarter- Ch-10 / Ch-11 
3rd Quarter- Ch-23 / Ch-19 / Ch-20 
4th Quarter- Ch-21 / Ch-22 / Ch-5 

Alive at 25 and CPR certification will also be implemented into the curriculum.  

Grading Breakdown 40 points can be earned in class each week. 20 from classroom and 20 from gym activity. 

Notes Test / Vocabulary test will be given for each chapter and will each be worth 100 points. 

Weekly rotation Mon / Wed classroom Tues / Thur / Fri Var Gym 

Make-up work All students with an excused absence will have 3 days to make-up any work that is missed. After this time period,a grade of "0" will be given.

4. Textbook (classroom set)

1. PE uniform  $ 20-30 (depending on choice)
2 Socks
3. Athletic shoes
