We are looking forward to an exciting day of professional learning on District Learning Day, February 12! This day will kick off our Digital Learning Journey as we strive to enhance instruction and student engagement through technology. This event will take place at Collierville High School (thank you, Mr. Blanchard) from 7:30am - 12:15pm, and then back to your home school after lunch. It is imperative that everyone arrives on time, as we have a guest speaker that will begin promptly as scheduled. Since all K-12 teachers will be attending, please park and enter where it is convenient. There will be signs and greeters to assist you as you enter the building. Upon arrival, you will want to visit the exhibit hall where we will be showcasing some of Collierville’s local businesses! Don’t miss out on signing up for some awesome teacher giveaways! In addition, Donut Hutt will provide donuts and coffee from 7:30-7:50. Everyone must be seated in the auditorium by 7:50. Please consider time for parking, visiting vendors, etc. to ensure you are seated on time. Following the welcome session in the auditorium, all teachers will attend two breakout sessions. Please review the attached catalog and register in MyLearningPlan for the two sessions you wish to attend (sessions will be available for registration on the District Catalog in MLP on Wednesday, January 27). The number of participants is limited in each session; therefore, registration is on a first come, first served basis. **PLEASE NOTE: Some sessions are MANDATORY for selected groups of teachers!
Be sure to check out all the ways to win awesome prizes throughout the day!
· Visit the vendor tables in the Exhibit Halls before the opening session and between breakout sessions. Drop your name in their box! Names will be drawn for a variety of prizes at the end of Session 2! Winners can pick up their items in the foyer by the auditorium on their way out!
· Stop by our photo booth to have your picture made with your colleagues! If we post your picture on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, someone in the photo will win a prize!
· Go on a scavenger hunt using QR codes posted in your sessions. Submit your answers to the questions to firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of the day. The names of those who submit the correct answers will go into a drawing to win a prize! Be sure to download a QR reader app ahead of time!
· Tweet about something you enjoyed or learned at one of your sessions! At the end of the day, a winner will be selected from those who tweeted us using the hash tag #teachtheville.
