Caitlyn Bahm

Bahm was invited to attend the Tennessee Governor’s School for International Studies last summer where she excelled in college level courses in political science, economics and foreign area studies. Learning the language of Bengali through a cultural study of India and Bangladesh sparked a strong desire to study many languages. While taking advanced level Spanish classes, she did a directed self-study of German. This year, Caitlyn comes before school every morning to learn Russian from a devoted foreign language teacher. Caitlyn also speaks Korean and knows American Sign Language.

With this unique desire to learn multiple languages, Caitlyn founded the International Club at her school. Her appreciation of cultural differences and her love of learning have taught her self-discipline, awareness of others and the value of education. Caitlyn is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, National English Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and National Society for High School Scholars. She has been named an AP Scholar with Honor. She is a nine-year member of the Girl Scouts and currently is pursuing the prestigious Gold Award.
