EPSO Week Highlights CLEP Exams

It’s Early Postsecondary Opportunities Week in Tennessee! Each day this week, we will highlight a different early postsecondary opportunity available to students in Collierville Schools.
What are Early Postsecondary Opportunities?
Early Postsecondary Opportunities allow students to:
Earn college credits while still in high school
Become familiar with college expectations
Develop confidence and skills for success in college
Make informed college and career decisions
Decrease the time and cost of completing a certificate, diploma, or degree
Today’s highlighted early postsecondary opportunity is the CLEP program.
Developed by the College Board, College Level Examination Program, or CLEP, exams are used to assess mastery of college-level material learned in a variety of ways – through general academic instruction, significant independent study, or extracurricular work. Students earning a passing score on the exam can earn credit that is accepted at over 2,900 colleges and universities. Check with Admissions at the college or university of your choice to determine if they accept CLEP credit and required passing scores.
