Dragons Baseball, Soccer Headed to State Tournament

Congratulations to the Collierville High School baseball and soccer teams as they both defeated Bartlett in the Sectional Championship to earn a berth to the 2016 TSSAA State Tournament. Junior Brayden Green pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Diamond Dragons and senior Jackson Bentley scored a PK in overtime to advance the futbol Dragons. CHS To Host Robotics Summer Camp

Participants will use the VEX Robotics Design System to build a frame and base for your robot, interchange wheels, create geared armatures, and engineer wiring. The team’s bot will have to adapt to compete in user-piloted challenges and obstacle courses, as well as autonomous robot challenges that will require programming using ROBOTC software. Dragon Senior Recognized as US Presidential Scholar

Collierville High School Senior, Sneha Mittal, was one of four students in the State of Tennessee to be selected as a United States Presidential Scholar. U.S. Secretary of Education John King made this announcement Wednesday. Only 160 United States Presidential Scholars were identified from the entire country.

Softball Dragons Win District 15 Regular Season Title

The Collierville High School softball team continued their dominance against Houston High School. The Dragons again looked impressive in the 15-0 win over the Mustangs Tuesday night. Kelsey Gross tossed the complete game 1-hitter. Shelby Crocker led the offensive attack with a Home Run and 5 RBI's. The Dragons improved to 23-9 on the year.

Collierville's Chamber Choir Wins Big In Windy City

The CHS Chamber Choir competed in the Worldstrides Heritage Choral Festival in Chicago on Saturday, April 23. Competing with choirs from 8 different states, the CHS Chamber Choir scored 1st place in their category with superior ratings from all judges. They also received the Adjudicators Trophy and the Top Choral Ensemble Trophy, the top two awards in the competition.

CHS Receives 6 Musical Theatre Award Nominations

Collierville High School’s Drama department received six High School Theatre Award nominations for Jekyll and Hyde, the musical performed this spring. The nominations include Outstanding Chorus, Outstanding Large Ensemble, Outstanding Student Orchestra, Outstanding Music Direction, and Outstanding Technical Achievement. Exam Option Approved for TNReady Courses

Second semester exams in TNReady tested courses will be OPTIONAL for any student who completes the TNReady assessment for that class. Any student who fails to complete a TNReady test by 2:00pm on Friday, April 29th, must take the final exam in that class.
