Draco Playhouse Production of The Mousetrap Opens Thursday Night

Collierville High School’s Draco Playhouse presents its second show this season by entering into a renown theatrical tradition with the classic tale of murder and intrigue, The Mousetrap. Agatha Christie wrote the play in 1952, and Keith Salter is bringing it to life November 9-12. Tickets are available at the door $8/$10. Staff members and their spouses are admitted free of charge, but donations are always appreciated.

CHS Art Students Perform Well at The Briarcrest Regional Art Contest & Exhibition

The following students performed well at the BRACE competition:
Olivia Leggett- 3rd Place Ninth Grade
Brianna Morelli- Honorable Mention Tenth Grade
Myrna Trevino- Honorable Mention Eleventh Grade
Emma McVay- 3rd Place Twelfth Grade
Tamara Castany- Honorable Mention Twelfth Grade

In addition Mrs Burford received the Amy Lange Memorial Art Teacher Award.

11th grade Practice ACT Results Will Be Delivered to Students on 11/8/17

On November 8th, all students will report directly to Homerooms beginning at 6:45 am. 11th grade Students will receive their score-reports, test booklets, and a Score-Report Key. Students will review their score-reports in English classes on 11/8/17 as well.

CHS Knowledge Bowl Team Defeats Whitehaven

Congratulations to Collierville High School’s Knowledge Bowl Team. Our team consisting of captain Nima Babajani, Richard Li, Sri Choudannavar, Nick Gomez, and Preetham Sanketh defeated Whitehaven Tuesday night in the 1st Round of the WREG Knowledge Bowl Tournament. Spanish Classes Build Ofrendas to Celebrate Día de los Muertos

Friday, October 27th all of the advanced level Spanish classes celebrated Día de los Muertos by honoring nine different deceased famous people. This festive and fun Mexican holiday traditionally takes place November 1st and 2nd, coinciding with All Saints and All Souls Days. It is a time to remember those who have passed by inviting the spirits back and building ofrendas with their favorite foods and objects. In the annual contest, Frida Kahlo took 1st, John Wayne 2nd, and Carrie Fisher 3rd. Click on the link to read more about this popular Mexican and Latin American celebration.
