Collierville Alum Peyton Culbertson Drafted By Miami Marlins

Former Collierville High School baseball standout, Peyton Culbertson, has been selected by the Miami Marlins in the 8th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft. The right-hander helped lead the Dragons to a 29-17 record as a senior in 2015 and helped lead CHS to a state championship in 2013. Culbertson was the winning pitcher in the team's semifinal game. During his junior campaign he registered a 4-2 record with a 1.79 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 31.1 innings pitched. He pitched to a 6-2 record and 2.26 ERA as a sophomore with 41 strikeouts in 31 innings. Culbertson just finished his junior year at Arkansas State University and is the son of long time Collierville baseball assistant David Culbertson.

Collierville Baseball Headed To State Tournament

The Collierville High School Dragons baseball team punched their ticket to the 2018 TSSAA Spring Fling by defeating Bartlett, 2-0, Friday night. UT-Martin signee Tyler Sherman had all the right stuff on the mound and threw the complete game shut-out. He went seven innings, allowing only three hits, striking out three and walking none. Marcus Bersoza, Evan Chatlosh, Gabe Nicholson, and Riley Davis each had a hit for the Dragons. The team will play their first game in the state tournament Tuesday. The bracket is still to be released.

Lady Dragons Lacrosse Defeats Houston, Improves Record to 11-2

The Collierville High School Lady Dragons Lacrosse team continued their winning ways, Wednesday night, with a 13-8 victory over Houston High School. The team is winners of four straight and clinched a playoff berth with the victory. On Friday, the Lady Dragons will take on Bartlett at 7pm at Johnson Park - the regular season finale.
