CHS Golf Announces Tryout Date

Tryouts for the 2018 boys and girls golf team will be held Tuesday July 31st at Irene Country Club (http://www.irenegolfcc.com). Players can register and warm up starting at 3:30. We will begin teeing off around 4:00. Everyone trying out will need to bring $10 for the green fee. All players trying out will need to complete the Sportsware online forms and the physical form. These can be found on school website under the athletics link.

Lady Dragons Soccer Adds Former University of Memphis Standout To Staff

Collierville High School Principal, Mr. Chip Blanchard, and Collierville Dragons Head Soccer Coach, Gareth Munro, have announced the addition of Roni Christie to the CHS faculty and Lady Dragons soccer staff. Roni is a graduate and former member of The University of Memphis women’s soccer team. The highly-touted recruit for the Tigers from College Station, TX was also an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Memphis and served as president her senior year. Roni was also the first women's soccer player in school history to receive The Elma Roane Award. The Elma Roane Award is awarded to the female student-athlete who possesses drive, enthusiasm and determination, while maintaining a concern for others. Roni and her husband Andrew are the parents of two children and reside in Collierville.

All-State Collierville Soccer Defender Commits To Harding University

Collierville High School rising senior, Jake Sisson, will continue his academic and athletic career at Harding University. The 5'11", 190 pound defender was selected to the THSSCA All-State team last week. Sisson, and the Dragons, will look to compete for a state tournament run under the direction of new head coach Gareth Munro in 2019. The Bisons compete in the Great American Conference.

Coach beats cancer, sees graduate drafted by Packers

Collierville High School graduate Hunter Bradley fought football injuries, and one of his coaches, Mike O'Neill, fought cancer. They both won.

O'Neill, 52, the head football coach at Collierville High School, was diagnosed in October with throat cancer and moved to Houston for treatment at MD Anderson.

While O'Neill was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment so intense that it caused second-degree burns to his throat, Bradley was hard at work as a long snapper for Mississippi State following three ACL injuries.

Former Union University Player and Coach Joins Dragon Soccer Staff

Collierville High School head soccer coach, Gareth Munro, has announced the addition of Duncan Nicol as an Assistant Coach for Dragons Soccer. Nicol is a former graduate and player for Union University. He started on the men's soccer team for four years. During his time on the team he was named NCCAA All-Region and is tied, 3rd for most goals scored in a game.

Coach Nicol helped lead his team to their first ever NCCAA National Championship in 2003 and in 2004 helped lead his team to their first ever NAIA Region Tournament. In 2005, Nicol and the team had their best finish yet with a runner up in the NAIA Region Tournament which led to their highest ever, 2006 pre season ranking of number 9.

Collierville Football Adds Former Memphis All-Conference Tight End To Staff

Collierville High School Head Football Coach Mike O'Neill has announced the addition of former University of Memphis All-American Conference Tight End, Daniel Montiel, to staff. Montiel played in 45 games for the Tigers and made 20 starts. He hauled in 45 career catches for 617 yards and seven touchdowns. He was a member of a high-prolific offensive unit in 2015 and 2016 under the direction of two of college football's best coaches - Justin Fuente and Mike Norvell. The Arlington, Texas native will coach wide receivers at Collierville High School and work closely with offensive coordinator Tommy Miller.

Dragons Football Adds Former Mississippi State Running Backs Coach To Staff

Collierville High School Principal, Chip Blanchard, and Head Football Coach, Mike O'Neill have announced the addition of John White to the CHS Faculty and Football Staff. Coach White comes to Collierville High School after spending the last two years as a Graduate Assistant Running Backs Coach at Mississippi State University. He served as the team's Interim Running Backs Coach at last year's TaxSlayer Bowl. Prior to his duties with Coach Dan Mullen and the Bulldogs, White was an offensive assistant and quality control coach at Princeton University. The 2009 Collierville High School graduate returns home and will begin working with the Dragon Football team immediately. He will join the Social Studies department at CHS.

Collierville Ace Named To All-State Team

Congratulations to senior Tyler Sherman on his selection to the Tennessee Baseball Report All-State Team. Sherman was 9-2 with a 1.50 ERA and was a key contributor to the Dragons' final four state tournament run. The right-hander had an astonishing 69 strikeouts and only 7 walks in 70 innings of work. Sherman has signed a National Letter of Intent to play his college baseball at Tennessee-Martin.
