Investment Committee Member
Artie Byrd has been serving as the President of our Board since 2008, and also serves on the Board's Investment committee. He attended Memphis State University and is a retired Executive of the Kellogg Company. He also serves on the St. Francis Hospital Board as well as the Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center Board.
Artie is married to his wife, Janet, and they have four children and nine grandchildren. They are very active in the Church of the Incarnation where he serves many ministries and is the Chairman of the Church and Schools Finance Council. When he can find free time, he enjoys playing golf and working around the house. Artie truly loves CHS and credits this great school with much of his success in business and life. Go Dragons!

A life-long resident of the Collierville area, Dee graduated from Collierville High School in 1989 and attended Union University in Jackson, TN. After graduating from Union University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree, Dee began his career in the banking industry. He is currently the Chief Credit officer at BankTennessee in Collierville. Dee has two sons that are both attending CHS. Dee is also a Football Official with the Mid-South Football Officials Association and a Basketball Official with Memphis.
Fundraising Chair / Class of 1970
Hunter graduated from Collierville High School in 1970 and earned his Bachelors of Science in Education from Memphis State University. He was a co-owner and President of All Star Waste Systems before retiring. He was involved with the National Solid Waste Association where he received the Governor’s Award.
Hunter is actively involved with many other organizations. He is the President of the Harbor Village at Manistee Beach Association, Secretary-Treasurer of the Harbor Village Marina Association, and President of the Lakeshore II Condominium Association. When he can find free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and cheering on the Memphis Tigers.

Brian grew up in Collierville and graduated from CHS as a part of the 13 Year Club. He was active in the scouts and achieved the Eagle Scout rank. After high school he attended The University of Tennessee in Knoxville obtaining his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. He currently works as a Sales Representative for COROB, supplying tinting equipment for the paint and coatings industry.
He and his wife, Victoria (Class of ’05), are excited to have purchased their first home here in Collierville. Brian looks forward to starting a family in this great community and the opportunity to support our new school system.
Class of 1977
Buddy has spent the majority of his life in Collierville. After graduating from Collierville High School in 1977, he pursued a career in the fire service by attending classes from the Tennessee Fire Service Academy. Buddy was hired by the Town of Collierville in July 1978, and moving through the ranks over the next 38 years, he was elevated to the highest level within the Fire Department where he was Appointed by the Mayor and Board of Alderman to the Chief of the Department on May 9, 2016.
Buddy and his wife Dr. Linda Billings have been married for thirty-eight years and have two adult children; Robert Billings (Class of 99) (Chrissy), Brandy Billings (Class of 01) and one grandson Bo Billings (5.5), named after his great grandfather Robert â€œBoâ€ Reid class of (49). They are active members of Bethany Christian Church where he serves as a Deacon and Secretary to the Board. They Currently reside in Williston, Tennessee.
Class of 1987
Sonjii Owens is a 1987 graduate of Collierville High and was one of the first 6th grade students to attend the new Collierville Middle School in 1980. She is the fourth generation in her family to grow up in Collierville, met her husband Timmy while both attending CHS and both of her daughters (Essence and Taydi) are CHS graduates! Sonjii has worked in city or state government for most of her career and is a lifetime Girl Scout and a current Board member of her HOA.
Class of 1989
Jeremy Smith graduated from CHS in 1989 and has been a lifelong resident of Collierville. His mother was also a teacher in Collierville schools for 30 years. Jeremy attended the University of Memphis and earned a B.A. in English, M.A.T. in secondary education, and an Ed.S in school counseling. He also attended CBU where he earned administrative licensure for school leadership. He has been a teacher, coach, and counselor for 21 years in the Shelby County Schools district. His wife is a teacher at Tara Oaks Elementary. All three of his children attend Collierville schools. Jeremy volunteers to coach his son’s basketball and baseball teams, and is currently an assistant coach for the 10U Dragons baseball team. Jeremy loves attending baseball, basketball and football games, cheering on the Memphis Tigers, Redbirds, Grizzlies, and St. Louis Cardinals.
Class of 2008
Brittany Clark graduated from Collierville High School in 2008 and went on to complete her education at Mississippi State University receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2012 and her Master’s degree in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs in 2014. She currently works for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a Relationship and Stewardship Manager for youth and community engagement fundraising initiatives. Brittany enjoys working with students and providing them with leadership and development opportunities to give back in a meaningful way. In her free time, Brittany enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with family and friends. She currently lives in Collierville and is excited serve through Collierville High School Alumni Association.

Katelyn Roberts was raised in Collierville, attended Crosswind Elementary, Schilling Farms Middle and graduated from Collierville High School in 2010. She received a degree in Business from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and is currently pursuing an MBA. Katelyn works for Collierville-based Helena Agri-Enterprises in the Regulatory Department. Outside of work and school, she enjoys giving back to the community. For the last few years, Katelyn has served as a coach for the Collierville Lady Dragons competitive softball team. She is looking forward to new opportunities to be involved in the community and the Collierville High School Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Class of 2016
Jessica Fletcher grew up in Bartlett, TN and moved to Collierville when she was in the 8th grade. After attending Schilling Farms Middle School, she then continued her education at Collierville High. Very involved, Jessica was on the color guard, a member of the Spanish, Salsa, and Beta clubs, maintained a 3.8 GPA, and graduated in 2016 with Honors. Once she received her diploma, she further pursued her passion of Spanish at the University of Memphis. She is currently entering her senior year, majoring in Spanish and minoring in English. Jessica works as an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, and is planning her wedding with her high school sweetheart, Jake (class of 2018). Jessica looks forward to starting her family here in Collierville and giving back to the community through CHSAA.
