About Me

Welcome one and all!  My name is Britton Sanders, and I will be your child’s English instructor during the 2017/2018 school year.  Last year I moved to Collierville after having lived in Knoxville since 1998.  In 2007, I earned my Bachelors of Arts with a dual concentration in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Tennessee.  During my studies, I worked at New Horizon Montessori School both in the preschool/kindergarten classroom and in the elementary classroom.  Though I loved working with younger children, I wanted to pursue a career that would utilize my degrees more directly, so in 2010 I returned to UT where I entered the Teacher Education program.  My year of student teaching was spent at Maryville High School where I taught 9th grade honors as well as 11th/12th grade inclusion.  In 2012, I earned my Masters of Science in education, and I spent the following school year teaching 8th grade English at Sacred Heart Cathedral School.  Since then, I have been a stay-at-home dad for my twins as well as a substitute teacher for Alcoa City Schools.
