Biography 

Welcome to my ESL website! My name is Shelly Misenheimer, and this begins my 18th year of teaching and my 13th year as an ESL Instructor. 

Career Information

As an undergraduate of the University of Memphis, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language & Literature with a concentration in Spanish. I served as the ESL Instructor for both Collierville Middle and Schilling Farms Middle for 8 years before transferring to CHS in 2017. Prior to teaching ESL, I taught elementary Spanish for 5 1/2 years at Sycamore. As a graduate student at the U of M, I went on to earn a Masters in the Art of Teaching in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Elementary Education. I lived and studied Spanish abroad in Madrid, Spain at the University of St. Louis during college. In addition, I hold an ESL endorsement for K-12 and have completed an additional 30 hours above my masters with a concentration in English As a Second Language.

Purpose of Website

This website is designed to describe curriculum goals for our program, keep parents, students & faculty informed of Weekly Learning Targets, and annual testing information of ELLs, as well as to provide students and faculty with web resources, and to enhance our overall study of the English language through the use of technology.
