What is going on?
May 21-24, 2018
We are finishing our to work on Workshop 9: The Front Lines of Justice. Students will read a ballad this week. Students will also use their word skills to complete assignments on Suffixes and Inflectional endings. ***All make-up work and corrected assignments are due Tuesday by 2 pm!***
May 14-18, 2018
We are continuing our to work on Workshop 9: The Front Lines of Justice. Students will be reading "In Their Own Words" this week. Students will make inferences, analyze, react and write, summarize, synthesize, and compare/contrast the different points of view. The teacher will conference with students individually to make plans for summer and next school year. Students will be goal-setting.
**Comprehension Quiz on Friday** Students will receive a study guide on Monday.
May 7-11, 2018
We are working on Workshop 9: The Front Lines of Justice. Students will be reading short articles and excerpts about different leaders in the Civil Rights Movement. Students will practice vocabulary, compare and contrast, and inferencing. Students participate in pause-reading, choral reading, and read-aloud activities. There are two writing assignments this week. The pre-write and plan is on the back of their study guide.
**Vocabulary Quiz on Friday** Students have received a study guide.
April 30- May 4, 2018
We are completing a Reading Inventory and previewing skills: Compare and Contrast with "World of Dragons" and Inferencing with "In His Voice." We are starting Workshop 9 The Front Lines of Justice. Students will have a study guide for the vocabulary quiz and a prewriting page for our writing assignments next week.
