Please read the below from our new staff nurse!
I will be the new clinic school nurse for Collierville High School. I’m excited to be a part of your child’s care. I graduated nursing school in 2010, and have worked most of my career in the critical care unit or pediatric psychiatry setting. My family and I currently live in Mt. Pleasant, MS. I’m eager to meet each of you!

If you are interested in being a part of planning the baccalaureate service for the Class of 2019, please plan to stay (or come back for) a meeting this Thursday, March 21st at 2:05 in the library. As a reminder, baccalaureate is a Christian worship service designed, developed, and led by members of the senior class representing various churches. It is important that you attend the planning meetings if you are interested in speaking, singing, etc during the service. The other meeting dates are April 4th, April 18th, and May 2nd, all at 2:05 in the library. The meetings will last no more than an hour.
If you are unable to attend this week's meeting, please email Ms. Krotzer with your contact information and she will pass it on to the community church leaders that will be working with you all.

On March 20, students in 2nd period 9th grade Wellness, 9th grade World History, 11th and 12th grade English classes will be attending a presentation in the CHS Auditorium to hear award-winning author Mr. Matt de la Peña speak. He speaks about his journey from reluctant reader to author. He talks about his novels a little, but the focus of this presentation is the transformative nature of literature. Matt says “I didn’t fall for books until I was in college — I got there on a basketball scholarship — but once I did, it changed my life.” He also talks about the power of education, which we hope will register with our students! Mr. de la Peña will also be available in the CHS library from 10:45-11:45 that day to sign books.
Later that evening, we are also opening up the opportunity to hear Mr. de la Peña speak to the community! He will be speaking in CHS’s Pickler Auditorium from 6:30-7:30 pm. It’s free and open to everyone!!

Listen for some special announcements throughout the day! Make a donation to the National Down Syndrome Society! https://www.ndss.org At approximately 1:00pm, we will make an announcement dismissing any student who wishes to donate (any amount) from seventh period. Students should leave their bags in the classroom and show the teacher their money before leaving the room. They will head to the main hallway where they will see some awesome friends cheering them on and giving high fives! They will drop their donation in a bucket and head back to class.
