February 26, 2020

A group of students will be presenting a Black History Month program this Friday, February 28th during all lunches in the auditorium. “Black History Month Program: Shaping American Culture Through Black Music”is an entertaining and informative look into the history of black music and its impact on American culture. There will be live performances and educational facts by time period. The program will run for 30 minutes each of the three lunch periods. The lunch periods will be extended to 60 minutes to allow all students to attend and still have time for lunch. Attendance is not mandatory, but it is encouraged as we know all students will enjoy the presentation and come away with some knowledge they may not have had! Students, please remember no food or drinks are allowed in the auditorium, you may head to the cafeteria at the conclusion of the program to eat.

Thursday evening is your chance to see all three CHS bands along with both middle school bands in their pre-festival concert. The performance featuring Collierville High’s Concert, High Symphonic and High Wind Symphony, CMS concert, and WCMS Honor bands will begin at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Everyone is welcome and admission is free!

Students make sure you check your attendance daily in powerschool. If you have been marked absent unintentionally by a teacher, please notify that teacher, so that the teacher can notify the attendance office. Additionally, if you are absent, please bring a note to the attendance office within 48 hours.

Just a gentle reminder that students who eat in the cafeteria are only allowed to charge up to $15.00 on their lunch accounts.  However, we now have a great many students who are at their limit or near it. We want to ensure that all students eat lunch on a daily basis. Please check your child’s balance and add funds if needed.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Katherine Griffin at (901) 853-3310 Ext. 80030.
