World Down Syndrome Day at CHS

THURSDAY, MARCH 12, 2020

  • Wear blue and yellow and/or crazy socks
    • All students and staff members are invited to participate.
    • Blue and yellow are the official colors for down syndrome awareness. In addition, there is a “Lots of Socks” campaign that encourages you to wear lots of socks, colorful socks, crazy socks, or even three socks to represent the three chromosomes! The goal is to stand out so people ask you about your socks and you can help raise awareness.
  • Listen for some special announcements throughout the day
  • Make a donation to the Down Syndrome Association of the Mid-South
    • At approximately 1:26pm, we will make an announcement dismissing any student who wishes to donate (any amount) from seventh period. Students should leave their bags in the classroom and show the teacher their money before leaving the room. They will head to the main hallway where they will see some awesome friends cheering them on and giving high fives! They will drop their donation in a bucket and head back to class.
