Vance Hudson

Hudson is a National Merit Semifinalist, an AP Scholar with Honor and a member of the Cum Laude Society. His inquisitive nature and creative thought processes make engineering a perfect profession for him. He has been instrumental in building the school’s robotics team and strives to inspire children to consider careers in science.

Active in all aspects of school life, Vance first became known in the school when he won the “Helicopter of 2050” design competition. As Grand Champion, Vance received the Igor Sikorsky Youth Innovator Award and an expense-paid trip to the secured Sikorsky Headquarters in Connecticut. After that, he realized that engineering was the best path for his future.

Captain of the Dragons Robotics Team, Vance led the team to the World Championship in St. Louis. He works with the STEM program to market the group and to create an executive board. He is a leader who encourages excellence and is calm under pressure. In addition, he is section leader of the trombone section and loading crew captain of the varsity band.
