MBA Summer Law Intern Program for minority high school students

The Memphis Bar Association’s Summer Law Intern Program (SLIP) for minority high school students purpose is to allow interns to experience the “real world” practice of law, with the goal of encouraging them to consider law as a career. This year’s program runs from June 4-29.  During those four weeks, interns must work a total of 60 hours, on a schedule determined by them and the workplace to which they are assigned.  Group activities each Friday afternoon will allow them to interact with lawyers and judges.  Interns who successfully complete the program receive a $500 stipend at the closing ceremony in July.

An application form and flyer about the program are enclosed.  The program is open to minority students (rising juniors and seniors) in good standing who reside, and attend school, in Shelby County. The application deadline is April 6th.  Students can apply online (preferred) by going to our website, www.memphisbar.org.
