CHS Seal of Biliteracy & Bilingual Program

CHS Seal of Biliteracy & Bilingual

The 2017-18 graduating class was our first group of students to be recognized under the CHS Seal of Biliteracy & CHS Bilingual Seal.  The program recently adopted by the state of Tennessee recognizes the value of speaking more than one language, promotes language proficiency, and delivers new economic opportunities to our students as they transition into college and the work force. Students must complete an application and meet the requirements to be accepted. Depending on your language background, some students may be required to complete a nationally recognized bilingual proficiency exam (STAMP 4S).  Once approved and accepted, students will receive a CHS Seal of Biliteracy or CHS Bilingual Seal on their diploma as well as a teal cord for the graduation ceremony to recognize their accomplishment of being biliterate or bilingual.

Application forms may be printed or you may pick up a copy in the Guidance Office. Please return all applications to Mrs. Misenheimer (A605) or Mrs. Reed (A631) for acceptance by September 30th.

Our on-line bilingual profiency testing is scheduled for November 6, 7, & 8 from 2:15 - 5:00 pm in the library.  All four domains (reading, writing, listening & speaking) will be tested, so please plan accordingly.  Most students require at least two days to complete the entire test. All payments for testing are done on-line through the STAMP4S payment link (see below).
