Lauren Ballantyne lead testing coordinator and vice principal Brett Heinrich curriculum administrator throughout the presentation you will learn the following how the state of she defines Title 1 School the background behind Title 1 your rights as a parent with respect to Title 1 how Title 1 funds are used at Collierville High School the purpose of a school Improvement plan and how to access the do high school Improvement plan the purpose of our School contact and how we engage families and parents at Collierville High School additional family services provided by cards off school or review CHS data and curriculum State Testing administered at CHS special academic Services provided by CHS and we will conclude the presentation with details on how to get involved at chla in addition to a parent and family survey at the end Title 1 part A provides financial assistance to local educational agencies for children from low-income families to help ensure that all children be challenging State academic standards what exactly is a Title 1 School if I don't want schools receive extra funding that is titled $1 from the federal government these dollars are used for some of the following thing to identify students experiencing academic difficulties and provide assistance to help you to purchase additional staff programs materials and or supplies and to conduct parent and child the school is required to respond to any such suggestions as soon as possible in general Title 1 funds may be used for some of the following things smaller class sizes additional teachers and parents additional training for school staff extra time for Destruction that is before and after school programs parent and family engagement activities and or a variety of supplemental teaching materials equipment technology Fisher Beaupre will now provide you with information about our family and parenting gaysian plan and how we use our school Improvement plan to formulate academic goals each year in the fall of every school year CHS creates a school Improvement plan that it aligned ourselves with our our district Improvement plans and plans are developed in-house using teachers parents and other family Representatives we use our data from the following year to develop areas or identify areas where we need to grow the school and then we develop specific strategy to develop a plan that will help us address those issues are proven plan isn't posted on the on our website after it has been approved by our school district and the state are School Improvement for the 2023 to 2024 school year are to possibly increase student engagement School through a special programs through our prevention Council and other attendance Colts and discipline goals check into increase are on track and Mastery of Matthew sees to 42.7% in that is going to be focused through implementing new instructional strategies and things of that nature goal 3 increase relato sees 265.8 using very similar targeted interventions as we do for math and then finally to improve our culture and career-ready graduate rate to 65.5 or 80 scored a 70% and are gray Malaysian rate on to 95% to do this we're going to focus on early identification of students who are struggling getting to graduation offering a large number of act tutoring and prep opportunities and Final making sure that we are offering a wide variety of courses that engage students and allow them to get early educator early second post-secondary educational opportunities the School parent contact is a written agreement between School staff and Families where we take the opportunity to strengthen our Partnerships within the school Community we explain how we work together with our families and all stakeholders to help our students reach high academic standards this is our written commitment to all stakeholders in the community improve student achievement the overall goals of the School parent compact is to promote the compact all stakeholders develop relationships with family to engage them and implement the compact as a tool to strengthen part it's for student achievement the School parent compact for Org forward slash similar to the school parent contact our family plan and policy is also written commitment which explains how our school will support the important role families play in the education of their children every School parent and family engagement policy I found online Carterville high school has 1% of the funds provided by Title 1 part A for family engagement earmarked for parent training we use opportunities like this for our family staff and students to provide sleep on the preferred training throughout the school year this could be done through a survey which is also available online Cardinal schools provides coordination of services through the Family Resource Center which is located at West Carver Middle School my Resource Center is Dental operations for family support district and Community Center resources and community outreach Tennessee academic standards around a common set of expectations for what student will know and be able to do with the end of a grade for each subject area high school for more information about Tennessee. ear it's light here indicates our graduation rate since the year 2015 as you can see from 2015 to 2019 our graduation rate has risen each year last two years 2021 to 2023 our graduation rate has hovered at 95.8% each year carbohy school has new courses that are offered at capacity for the 2324 school year you can focus on Earth nursing education for your practicum courses Aviation Aviation to a plethora of dragons distance learning to enrollment courses including oral Communications calculus and other courses offered by the University that's why I talked about our 2023 2000 4 year honors and dual-enrollment courses last year, local courses courses in issue 470 industry certifications this year only 46 honors-level courses that's because many of our courses converted to being offered as opposed to 36 last year we have a very large advanced placement program at Collierville High we had just under 1,000 students take just under two thousand gems in 27 different content areas how does you did it 67% of those scored a 3 or higher most colleges will take at 3 for college credit this year we are on track to exceed our total numbers just after semester one we have nine and 28 students taking just over 1,400 exams and that does not include semester 2 exam so expect that number to be over 1,000 students in over 2,000 exams by the I talked about our current semester 1 course in Rome is for honors SEC dual enrollment and AP students enrolled in our honors courses near 46 of those currently we have a hundred twenty seven students enrolled in six Statewide dual credit courses received a secondary credit pending the results of the exam at the end of the semester or the quarter 1255 us 40 we also have 871 students enrolled in 24 different placement courses Carterville high school offers many different types of tests and Beyond just star stay DLC testing we also offer ACT Testing with all students must take as a graduation requirement at least once that's offered twice. the school year once for free as a junior in the spring to play in March and then once for seniors in the fall typically in October another test that we offer is he adds up to this is a test that will give all sophomores as a career exploration test discussed provides great feedback for students on vocational aptitude and career opportunities for the future it matches but they're with their skilled at and what they're good at with her interested in and show them different career choices I would have those two things align it's also used for a potential military entrance exam if that is a path in which a student does choose to want to go in the last test that we offer Beyond State St AP testing is a ps80 PSAT is a National Merit qualifying assessment for juniors in order to qualify as a National Merit scholar you must be in your junior year of high school we encourage freshman in sophomores also take the test just to get used to the testing format and what is like before their junior year if they do have Ambitions to qualify to be a National Merit scholar Merit Scholarships do provide or Scholars to get opportunities for additional scholarships and to post secondary institutions special services are provided a cargo High School through Section 504 plan IEPs and the dragon Academy ghs parents and families I want to sincerely thank you for reviewing our annual Title 1 presentation we ask that you please taking rchs Title 1 family survey for the 2023 to 2024 school year by clicking on the link below or by skin is an embedded QR code for more information and or to access our school Improvement plan parent contact or our curriculum information please click on the Collierville High School website link below as well thank you for your support and we look forward to partnering with you to school year do dragons
