Level 1 - Introduction to Aerospace
Level 2 - Aviation Maintenance I
Aviation Maintenance I Dual Enrollment introduces students to aviation safety. The coursework will include an overview of aviation math/physics. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of aircraft maintenance and technical mechanics, as well as fundamentals of regulation and workplace skills. Students will perform various hands-on tasks. Credits: 1.0 (Grade Level: 11 / Prerequisite: None)
Speciate Note: First year aviation mechanics students must enroll in Aviation Maintenance I Dual Enrollment in the fall and Aviation Maintenance II Dual Enrollment in the spring.
Level 3 - Aviation Maintenance II
Aviation Maintenance II Dual Enrollment is a continuation of the skills learned in the first level course and shop hours. Credits: 1.0 (Grade Level: 11 / Prerequisite: Aviation Maintenance I Dual Enrollment)
Special Note: : First year aviation mechanics students must enroll in Aviation Maintenance I Dual Enrollment in the fall and Aviation Maintenance II Dual Enrollment in the spring.
Level 4 - Aviation Maintenance III
Aviation Maintenance III Dual Enrollment introduces students to the fundamentals of aviation electricity. Students will learn about basic electricity and airframe electrical systems. Coursework will include the reciprocating electrical system and the turbine electrical system. In addition, students will learn about aircraft inspection. Credits: 1.0 (Grade Level: 12 / Prerequisite: Aviation Maintenance II Dual Enrollment)
Special Note: Second year aviation mechanics students must enroll in Aviation Maintenance III Dual Enrollment in the fall and Aviation Maintenance IV Dual Enrollment in the spring.
Level 5 - Aviation Maintenance IV
Aviation Maintenance IV Dual Enrollment is a continuation of the skills learned in the third level course and shop hours. Credits: 1.0 (Grade Level 12 / Prerequisite: Aviation Maintenance III Dual Enrollment)
Special Note: Second year aviation mechanics students must enroll in Aviation Maintenance III Dual Enrollment in the fall and Aviation Maintenance IV Dual Enrollment in the spring.
Students enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Dual Enrollment program are actively working toward completing the general phase of the FAA Aviation Mechanic General, Airframe, and Powerplant Airman Certification.
