CHS Golf Announces Tryout Date

Tryouts for the 2018 boys and girls golf team will be held Tuesday July 31st at Irene Country Club (http://www.irenegolfcc.com). Players can register and warm up starting at 3:30. We will begin teeing off around 4:00. Everyone trying out will need to bring $10 for the green fee. All players trying out will need to complete the Sportsware online forms and the physical form. These can be found on school website under the athletics link.

Coach beats cancer, sees graduate drafted by Packers

Collierville High School graduate Hunter Bradley fought football injuries, and one of his coaches, Mike O'Neill, fought cancer. They both won.

O'Neill, 52, the head football coach at Collierville High School, was diagnosed in October with throat cancer and moved to Houston for treatment at MD Anderson.

While O'Neill was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment so intense that it caused second-degree burns to his throat, Bradley was hard at work as a long snapper for Mississippi State following three ACL injuries.

CHS Alum Competed in Optimist International Oratorical World Championship

Miles Thomas, a 2018 CHS graduate, was among more than 40 worldwide participants to compete at the 2017-18 Optimist International Oratorical World Championship. Contestants delivered speeches on: “Where are My Roots of Optimism?” during the competition at the Center for Global Leadership at St. Louis University. Natalie Estes is the 2018 National Champion in Extemporaneous Commentary

Congratulations to Senior Natalie Estes for winning the 2018 National Championship in Extemporaneous Commentary at the National Speech and Debate Tournament for her speech on women's education. In addition she was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Natalie is the 8th CHS student to qualify for the National Speech and Debate tournament. Congratulations also goes to Coach Robbins for doing an outstanding job preparing our Speech and Debate team for great things.
