INFORMATIVE ESSAY:  Writing about Short Stories
 
IF you have not written your essay, you should read the prompt below and choose one of the two options. Next choose a graphic organizer and complete it with the required information. Check out the rubric to see how it will be graded. After the organizer is done, you must turn it in to me and make an appointment to stay after school to write your essay. Find or print the essay outline to use when you write.The essay writing MUST be done after school in my room. Bring paper and a writing utensil.
 
Late essays do not get a rewrite when the grade is entered in Powerschool. On time essays have a week- starting when the grade is put in Powerschool to rewrite in class after school. 
 
The final due date for this essay was Wednesday, September 13.

The prompt is below. The articles you need to choose from are just above this section.  Integrating quotes help sheets have been added here, as well. IF you do not consider them carefully, they will not help you to improve your writing. Please take several minutes to see what the integrated quotes files have for you. The organizer is attached and the rubric is on the same file with the prompt. Upper level students pay close attention to all guides and helps given to them. Please do the same so you are better able to reach your full potential!
This essay grade will begin our grades for Quarter 2.

Quarter 1 report cards will be available online in PowerSchool beginning October 20. No paper copies will be sent home.
