CHS Students Pass Certified Nursing Assistant exam

We are proud to announce that the students listed below have successfully completed the rigorous two-year Certified Nursing Assistant program at Collierville High School. This program includes 60 hours of clinical experience at Jordan River Health Campus in Collierville, 159 lab hours, and 180 classroom hours.
The Nursing Program is highly challenging. Students must pass numerous tests, both online and written, and demonstrate proficiency in various skills under timed conditions. They are required to care for our most vulnerable population—the elderly. The final step is passing the boards.
During the board examinations, students are assessed by nurses appointed by the Department of Nursing. They must answer 100 questions, achieving a minimum score of 75% to pass, and demonstrate 3-4 skills chosen from the 22 they have learned. The skills are randomly selected by a computer. Students are tested individually, monitored by a clock and an observer. Upon passing the boards, students receive their Certified Nursing Assistant Certification, enabling employment in areas such as:
- Hospitals
- Nursing Homes
- Assisted Living Facilities
- Clinics
- Rehabilitation Facilities
- Home Health
- Telehealth
All our students who choose to use their certifications secure employment. Those who move out of state or attend college elsewhere can transfer their licenses and find employment in other states. Local employers frequently seek to hire our students, a testament to our strong reputation at CHS.
Please join us in congratulating this exceptional group of CNAs as they embark on their careers in healthcare.
